2024 Tax Day Freebies and Deals

Ahh, glorious Income Tax Day is upon us with but a single day to spare. I've still yet to finish mine. I've only entered in my name and address on my Turbo Tax account, but the status bar still reads as 0% complete. That's not too encouraging if you ask me. I might just end up filing for an extension this morning. Hooray Democracy! At least I'm a few steps ahead of Homer Simpson.

While I toil away at figuring out which of my plants count as dependents (hey, they couldn't live without me!), enjoy this list of 2024 Tax Day freebies and deals! I should note, you may see other frugal sites reporting additional freebies, but I didn't include those. Everything below are offers with hard evidence for them online.

Unless otherwise noted, these freebies are available on Monday, April 15, 2024 only.

2024 Tax Day Freebies

File Your Taxes – Before we get to the fun stuff, you've filed your taxes, right?! If you haven't, you can file your free federal tax return in minutes with Turbo Tax or H&R Block. I'd start with getting that done before scoring any freebies from below 😀

More Freebies Coming Soon! They're usually announced in late March / early April.

As always, if you know about a freebie I missed, please share it with me and other Hiffers alike in the comments!

  1. They must have changed the wording on the Sonic deal. Page now reads, “Offer includes single-patty SONIC® Cheeseburgers (approx. 1/4 lb. precooked) only. Add-Ons cost extra/ Not good in conjunction with combos,”

  2. These were stated in my local paper as well:

Office Depot – 25 free black and white copies one sided

Panda Express – Free Samurai Surf and Turf (4/17)

Chick-fil-A – (I like this one its creative). Buy anything on 4/15 save your receipt and take back on 5/14 to receive a full refund.

    • Thanks Jackie. The Office Depot offer is legit, but beware the Chick-fil-A Panda offer. I’m pretty sure it’s only regionally in two or three small areas.

  3. LOL free dates to “help singles take their mind off taxes!” I think a trip to Tahiti would help me take my mind off taxes … just saying.

  4. The town I live in only has a Wendy’s, a Dairy Queen. a Dunkin Donuts and a Pizza Hut. The only one of the places in this freebie that I have even heard of in Maine is Starbucks and I would have to travel almost 50 miles to get there. There used to be a Cinnabon on the Maine Turnpike but I heard it closed down. Oh well, I guess I am saving a lot of calories.

  5. I visit your website daily, a couple times a day & enjoy it.
Thank you for posting the freebies, especially for the Starbucks Free Coffee for Tax Day. Pike’s Peak Place coffee is awesome!

  6. Well, boo hoo…. Subway here didn’t honor the ‘free cookie’ deal. Sigh… At least I got my coffee though. Thanks for the post.

  7. Actually what you could do with the Starbucks deal if you have more than one store in your area when you run out at one store just go to the next store for your refill…

  8. I think the Starbucks one is only good up to 20 oz. but it doesn’t say there’s any sort of limit to the number of times you can get in line, so… take a field trip to the car & come back for a refill??

Also, if you sign up for their rewards program & make it to 5 stars (=5 purchases)… you can have FREE refills on brewed coffee (same visit only), a FREE drink on your birthday, AND two hours of FREE wi-fi whenever!! 😀

  12. Nothing in my area, but starbucks but I don’t drink coffee. This really sucks since I live in AL, & can drive easily to GA, but no Whole Foods locally.

  13. Not a lot in my area. But oh well! Someone on Facebook mentioned that Taco John’s is giving away a free taco, too, and I still have the free Cinnasopillas coupon from my birthday last week…so I might have to try that!

  14. I am very sad. The only one I will be able to use is Starbucks. I live in CA. and it seems we never get any of the good stuff! (if I have a cinnabons near, will not use it, too many carbs!!!)

  16. I went to an O’Charley’s in Indianapolis and they had little things on the table saying that they are giving away free homemade strawberry lemonade all day. It is more for administrative professional day, but it’s the same day as tax day!

  17. Goob, you’re lucky you don’t live in NY. After I entered my name and address into the free online tax software (TaxAct) it said that I owed the state $6.
