Happy Day everyone! I’m bringing you a review of the free Kashi Go Lean bar today. Unfortunately, I’ve been sick all week and can’t taste a thing, so my little sister Abby is going to be your official taste tester today.

This freebie is from Sam’s Club and was posted back on December 4th. I received mine a mere four days later on December 8th. I was going to wait to review this till I was better but Abby checked the mail that day and what follows is the mail call and review.

I was sitting here at the computer checking email when the little tornado, otherwise known as Abby, came tearing by. I saw circulars and a paper cardboard box flying through the air as I asked her what she had. She stopped in front of me and said a freebie came and it’s mine. I was like let me see it and she finally hands it over and I’m like, let’s do this when I’m better… A pout-fest began and that’s when she became the official tester.

The Kashi bar is the Chocolate Almond kind; it’s a fairly big bar for a sample, a 1.59 oz bar. Bigger then the usual sample, or it is to me, lol.

Shaynon: Ok, Abby. What do you think of the looks of it?
Abby: It’s chocolate, what do you think?
Shaynon: I think that it’s got some oats and rice and other good stuff in it.
Abby: I can read the ingredients you know.
Shaynon: I know, now why don’t you taste it and see what it’s like.
Abby: I like the chocolate in it, it tastes good, but I can’t taste the rice, and eww there is soy in it. How come I can’t taste the soy?
Shaynon: It’s not all soy, just part.
Abby: Ok I guess. It’s really good though, I love the chocolate bottom. How do they do that?
Shaynon: I don’t know.
Abby: What do you know?
Shaynon: I know that it’s good for you, health food that doesn’t suck.
Abby: It doesn’t say health food anywhere on it, are you sure?
Shaynon: Yes I am. Trust me.
Abby: Its not. Your lying aren’t you? Im telling Gram.

And with that she was gone…leaving the empty wrapper on the desk. Proof that the Kashi bar is a keeper. It really doesn’t look healthy though, its covered and drizzled in chocolate and it has almond bits and puffed rice and lots of good stuff in it. And believe me, if my sister will eat it, it’s good. As for her telling my Gram I was lying, well let’s just say I know Santa’s number, so she didn’t tell Gram anything, lol.

And I’ve got a good excuse for yesterday. See, I’ve been working on my own webpage with its own blog. And man, I can tell you that what Goob’s got set up here? I know it’s not complex or anything, but its more HTML and CSS than I’ve ever done on my old site. And I thought that using tables over there and coding in notepad was difficult! Now imagine me sorting through color tables like I’m painting on walls. Makes me want to go grab another cup of coffee and I haven’t even had my first.

Thankfully, there’s samples like these two free samples from Design A Tea. Quality tea, flavored as you’d like it. So if you haven’t seen that Raspberry Irish Creme Oolong tea at the supermarket? You could have it yourself. Same goes for a Banana Creme de Menthe Green tea. If you can imagine it, I’m sure they could make it. Heck, just look at the site! And being a regular tea buyer and drinker, I can tell you that I’ve bookmarked this sucker because their prices alone are phenomenal for that.

I have no idea what this free Fisher Price Planet Heroes DVD is, but I’m certain my brother would watch it. I swear, if it’s in cartoon form, he’ll watch anything. You could make a cartoon of me sitting here in bed, sipping my coffee, and surfing the net for freebies and my brother would be the only person angry when Cartoon Network cancelled it after they realized nobody would watch it other than him. In fact, now that I think about it, I want my own cartoon dang it!

As seen from my videos on the site, I wear glasses from time to time. Of course, when I’m not, I’m wearing my contacts. When I was growing up, I always had the cheap soft cases that you could clip to the inside of your pocket for the ultimate nerd effect. I hated them. I always wanted to have the cool hard shell cases, sort of like this free eye glasses case. To me, it wasn’t just a glasses case. No sir, it was like a monster that would eat anything. Just glue some googly eyes to the top, some green glitter for scales, and a piece of red construction paper for a tongue, and there you go!

Now, when I get this in the mail? I think I’ll need to get myself some googly eyes to complete the effect…

Being Jewish, Christmas day/morning really doesn’t mean a lot to me. Growing up, my family and I always went out to a Chinese buffet for lunch/dinner after a matinee movie, and I’d head backdoor and play with my friends who got all of their cool Christmas swag. As I grew older, I heard about things like “Midnight Mass” and watched all of the sappy specials on Lifetime and Hallmark with the “miracles.” Matter of fact, my wife is passed out on the couch after us watching a few of those and the Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends special from a year back or so.

With all of these late nights and early gift mornings, coffee is always nice. Too bad we didn’t find this free sample of Paradise Coffee a few weeks before, so that you could be enjoying Paradise with your family in the morning…

Saturday night my wife and I watched The Simpsons Movie. After finishing that, for the next few hours, all she could do was sing the “spider pig” theme song. There’s nothing more annoying than someone singing that, then a cat attacking you.

So I think that when I get this free Vote Simpson bumper sticker, I’ll have to put it opposing to my free Vote Griffin bumper sticker somewhere. There’s also a free Vote Quagmire bumper sticker too, as if it wasn’t enough for you.

Right next to my keyboard, I have a stack of mechanical pencils, sharpies, and pens. And if that wasn’t enough, I carry a pen and a sharpie with me everywhere I go. I’m afraid that I’m not going to have some sort of writing implement nearby me at any given time in my life for that one crucial second that I might need it.

My life revolves around music. Seriously. If you’re on the forums, not only in my signature can you see the songs I’ve been listening to, but I mention music in so many of my posts. And even in the services section of the board, I post mixtapes and various other musical downloads that I find. Things like when I went over all of the CDs that I bought this last year and picked out my top ten albums for the year. Yeah, I live and breathe music.

So when we posted about Big Head Todd & The Monsters giving away their newest album on the board, I signed up immediately. I’m sort of surprised that I didn’t post it over here too. The news was pretty big, too. I mean they sent out over half a million of these CDs! Pretty impressive for a band mostly known in the 90s and even then, not well known.

But, the coolest thing is that you can download the album for free if you’d like to still get it and never got a chance. Yup, that’s right. So if you didn’t get in on the freebee when we posted it on the forums, you can now head over to their site and download the mp3s for their new album, All The Love You Need. Oh, and I know it says only available in the US on their site by means of having you enter state and zip. So your best bet if you live outside of the US is giving them DC and the Zip Code for the White House (20500). Have this one on W, you know?

Do you like skiing, snowboarding, or other winter sports? The exhilarating thrill of all that action in the freezing weather?

Yeah, me neither. The first and last time I tried a winter sport(snowboarding), I ended up crashing into the intructor. And the small child he was helping… needless to say(but being said anyways), I’m not a huge fan of winter, sports, or any combination of the two words.

However, I do like to have posters, papers, drawings, and other fun things to plaster on my walls to make them a little less boring. So this free poster from Snowmass Village seems like it would be a pretty awesome addition to a boring wall.

There’s honestly nothing at all like an early morning shower to wake up. And yes, this is coming from the guy who admitted to almost never showering a few months ago. I learned that was a stress induced sort of syndrome.

Thankfully on winter break now, I found I could almost live in the shower. And hey, because I’m in Florida, I might as well! Today’s high is only 67, so its not too bad. If only I had this sample of Head and Shoulders with me as well. Just think of how that’d make my shower.

Oh, I was thinking of the Herbal Essences commercial. Oh well, I guess only my head and shoulders will be happy after this one…

Back when I was in high school, I worked at the local Blockbuster for a year or so and absolutely loved it. I got to rent new movies before they were “released,” I got five free rentals per week, and my entire job consisted of standing around talking about movies. It was the perfect job for a lazy teenager. But the best part about the job was the movie posters. Every week, they’d change the giant posters in the window to reflect the new releases and throw the old posters out. That changed as soon as I got there. I used to trip over myself in a mad race to the window to claim the ones I wanted, oblivious to the fact that nobody else seemed to desire them. I’d plaster them all over my room, give them away to friends, even use them as decorations in my car. So you can see why this free Sarah Conner Chronicles poster gets me all excited! It’s like reliving my younger days all over again.

While this may not seem exciting to most people, chances are if you’ve ever downloaded a video from the Internet, it was compressed with DivX. What does this mean for you and me? Well, now we can compress our home movies using DivX! Good morning, HIFers! I can’t believe I’m this wide awake and I still haven’t had breakfast in the 2 hours I’ve been up. Needless to say, that requires doing dishes, and I don’t want to tackle that task…

But what is always simple to make is a cup of tea or coffee. Especially if you have a Senso machine. Sadly, I don’t, so this free Senso Tea Pods offer doesn’t do me much good. It also doesn’t do me much good to know that the coupon code for it is 8288-8781588 either, I guess. But maybe, just maybe, when these come I can put it in the bottom of a mug and put some boiling water in it and hope it works.

In high school, I was a history and geography buff. Well, more of the history buff. I loved studying the trends and the facts related to it. Little obscure things like Appomattox Courthouse, FDR’s New Deal, and the Bay of Pigs (which means I know more than Dana Perino). In knowing all of these random facts, I was killer on my high school’s academic team. Yeah, I was one of those nerds too. But, it got our high school a county-wide win over the other two, two years in a row, and it got me a place my senior year to go to Disney and the Florida Academic Team Showdowns. Yeah, we sucked horribly and got eliminated after two rounds, but we had a free trip to Disney! Can’t complain about that.

I do think that something like this free State of the States Publication PDF would have helped out a lot. See, if you read past years publications, you can see how chock full of facts they are about the changing trends in America. Heck, save 20 to 30 years worth of these and you can have your own kids made into academic geniuses.

They do come in magazines as well, but our dear own Pru found out that the supply is already gone of those, so request 2009’s early, and you won’t be downloading and printing your PDFs at Kinkos this year…

Hey folks, happy tuesday for y’all! And for anyone like me celebrating the last night of Hanukkah without giving your parents or a younger sibling a gift, well, here’s a good quick freebee for y’all with only a few hours left till sundown.

Step 1: Head to the forums and this thread and pick out a design you like.
Step 2: Print out one you like, or add one to the thread if you find another one yourself. Cut the shape down appropriately.
Step 3: Get some packing tape and lay it out flat. Then lay the printed out bookmark on the packing tape and “laminate” the book mark on both sides.
Step 4: Print out this post and tell them that I said that this will make up for all of the gifts that they never got you, even when they asked for a Pretty Pretty Pirate Pony for your 5th birthday and they gave you those packs of socks.

My college used to give them out every year with people’s dorm keys, but that practice ended after my sophomore year. It should come as no surprise that I have a cat. If folks haven’t seen any of my freebee reviews where Wooster’s made an appearance, well, then you should be following up on the site more often. But see, Wooster’s just the one that everyone sees. The dude craves attention. There’s also his sisters: Isabella (a white cat) and Cassandra (a grey tabby). Bella and Cassie are the smart ones, always sleeping and avoiding the cameras. Or pooping.
