Free Emergency Preparedness Food

Free Prepare Then Share Food

EDIT: I received an e-mail stating that they’re now charging $3.95 for shipping. Booooo.

The idea behind these free emergency preparedness food packs are noble (seriously, everybody should have a GOOD bag), but you know they’re only going to send one sample. I’ve only got to worry about myself and my dogs, so one’s plenty for me.

But let’s pretend I’m back home for the holidays and yada yada, we’re all trapped with only one pack of rations. Who gets it? Some would argue the children get first dibs, starting with the youngest. Others might reluctantly point out that if adults are to dig us out, they’ll need all the energy they can get. And what about those who are most injured and need the food for strength? Well don’t worry, I’ve thought this out carefully and…

I get it!1 These so called “family members” should have been more loyal readers of HIF and gotten their own!

  1. Before I get angry letters, I’d like to state for the record that I’d of course give out my rations to the Gooblings first. []

Free Heluva Good Dip

Free Heluva Good Dip

EDIT: Dang, we killed this Heluva freebie.

Hey everybody, I found a Heluva good freebie just now! If you become a fan of them on Facebook and then click the “Promotions” tab, you can get a coupon for free Heluva Good dip. Man, that is a Heluva offer – it sounds delicious. I have no idea which flavor the coupon will be for, but they have a Heluva selection.

Yes, I’m still a 13 year old trapped in a man’s body.

Free Pillsbury $10 Coupon Booklet

Free Pillsbury Coupon Booklet

If you work in marketing for a large company, listen up. General Mills is whooping your butt when it comes to freebies. It’s not even close any more, as this free Pillsbury $10 coupon booklet shows. We’re barely a month into 2010 and I can think of three freebies they’ve released off the top of my head.

So in the spirit of the upcoming Olympics, I want you to accept this challenge and try to at least give GM some competition. Once you’ve done so, feel free to e-mail me, because that’d make my job a heck of a lot easier. I’m all about being lazy proficiency.

Free Pampers Cruisers Diapers with Dry Max

Is it Friday yet? Oh, thank goodness. This week has sucked with a capital S and this morning’s episode was the puke on cake. After getting pulled over for not having a valid vehicle inspection sticker, and explaining to the officer that my truck was in perfect condition, I then proceeded to look like a moron as my engine choked itself and died. I guess the silver lining was the cop and I had a good laugh.

Looking for the humor in things helps keep me sane. Take these free Pampers Cruisers diapers with Dry Max, for instance. Maybe I can use them the next time I take my dog to the vet!

Try Your Luck Thursday 01/28/2010

It’s time for another Try Your Luck Thursday post and judging from how many people won things last week, I’m already a fan of this. Granted, I still have yet to win, but as long as Hiffers are getting prizes then I’m happy.

For starters, ShopText is giving away a free Amazon Kindle! Simply text KINDLE to 467467 before 2/4 to enter.

David’s Bridal is giving away a free wedding dress or five free Bridesmaid dresses. They pick a new winner each month and the fine print doesn’t say how many more months they’d be running it.

Goya is sponsoring a Bye Bye Bills promotion, where one lucky winner could walk away with $5,000 a month for life. Almost 10,000 people will win at least $10 cash though, so that’s not too shabby. Ends 10/1.

Dove has a “soap toss” game where you can win free Dove soap for a year. I have a game similar to this on my iPhone, so now I have an excuse to go play it and “train.” Ends 3/31.

Finally, Betty Crocker is giving away $5,000 plus 1,000 Box Tops for your local school if you win their Mix it Up with Betty contest. Simply send in your annual cookie mix recipe and see if it stacks up against others. Second place and Honarble Mentions win $500 and $100, respectively.

Do you happen to know of any ongoing contests? Then please, add them to the list below. And if you win a prize, let us know in the comments!

Deal: Free Bag of Hershey’s Pieces

Free Hershey's Pieces

EDIT: It looks like they ended this two weeks early.

I was unaware that Reese’s Pieces had three siblings: Almond Joy, York Peppermint Pattie, and Special Dark Chocolate. The rest of America was in the dark as well, so Hershey’s is offering to give away a free bag of Pieces to the first 25,000 people who do the following:

  1. Purchase any of the four Hershey’s candy bars above.
  2. Mail the entire wrapper along with this form to:

    Pieces Wrapper Reward Program
    6961-15
    P.O. Box 750792
    El Paso, TX 88575-0792

  3. Receive a coupon for a free bag of Pieces for whichever candy wrapper you sent in.

So I have to eat a candy bar in order to get more free candy? Ladies and gentlemen, I believe I’ve found my calling in life.

The bag’s retail for around $3.50 and the forms need to be sent in by Feb. 17. Although, but remember that it’s first come, first serve.

Free Babies-R-Us $5 e-GiftCard

For today only, become a fan of Babies-R-Us on Facebook and get a free $5 e-Giftcard. The card can be used in-store or online and it expires on 2/20. The one downside is that this place only sells stuff for babies. It’s been a while since I’ve played with a pink rattle, but whatever, it’s free.

Coincidentally enough, there’s a Facebook page for Hey, It’s Free! where new fans get 40,000 Awesome Points. Possible rewards from your points include high-fives from me or even letting me crash on your couch as I pass through town!

Free Avery Label Pads

EDIT: Looks like these are no longer available.

I had to unexpectedly take my dog to the vet, so posts may be a bit slow today. She should be okay, but even better news is that she didn’t pee on me like last time! It’s really hard to act smooth after something like that, because you really only have two moves; either admit you’re bad at training your dog or pretend that’s exactly what you wanted her to do all along. Neither sounded appealing, so I whipped up Plan C: pretend it was me. In hindsight, I probably could have come up with something better.

And now for the slickest segue ever – free Avery label pads!

Walmart: Free Cheese Nips & Coffee Mate

Walmart Freebies

Walmart currently has Cheese Nips on sale for $1, so if you grab two boxes and use this $2/2 coupons (IE) (FF), they’ll be free! If you can print the coupon twice, that equals…um…hold on, let me get a calculator.

Then make sure to grab some Coffee Mate Original Sticks (7 ct.) for $0.98 and use a $1/1 coupon to also get those for free.

Free Freezer Bag

EDIT: All good things must end…

Sam’s Club and Drumstick are offering free freezer bags and as usual, a Sam’s Club membership is not required. These bags look like an economical alternative to how I currently buy ice cream. You’d be surprised how many guys it takes to life an entire freezer case into my truck.
