Freebies and free stuff

Catchy title, huh?

Coupons.com doesn’t usually update their selection until the first of the month, but they decided to offer us an early May Day present by putting up some goodies this afternoon. I couldn’t be happier, because my pantry currently contains half a box of spaghetti and what I think are a can of peaches. I can’t be positive though. The label came off months ago and I’m worried that I’ll groggily dump a pile of pinto beans on my cereal soon.

Some of the free coupons I just printed include:

I know my local Food Lion has some of the cereals listed above on sale for $1.99, so in combination with the coupons, I’ll be getting them for less than a dollar a box. Hooray, I now have dinner planned for the next two weeks!

If you join Dove Dimensions, it says they’ll send you special coupons and freebies. They do have two coupons that you can immediately print upon signing one – one for $1.50 off any 2 Dove Deodorant or Body Mist and another $1.50 coupon for Dove Cream Oil Body Lotion.

I hope this is a sign that Dove is coming out of hibernation and about to blanket us with thousands of freebies. It seems like back in 2008, they were offering a new sample every hour. They’ve only had five so far in 2009! Sure, you might say that’s four more than most other companies, but who do you think you are using math or basic logic against me? Is it really my fault I never passed the second grade?

I’m closer than I’ve ever come to getting a full day’s supply of freebies from one site. Vive Mejor is at it again, this time offering a free Caress Skinwear Collection soap sample. I love how the confirmation page says “You are just a few steps closer to flaunting gorgeous skin!” Why thank you! But forget taking the rest of the steps, I’m gonna start flaunting right now!

Okay, so my attorney now tells me that’s not quite what it meant. Lucky for me, I have six months of upcoming free time to ponder the true meaning while the government sponsors my vacation to a local correctional facility. Aren’t they considerate?

This free Hellmann’s Light Mayonnaise is the third freebie in a row that I’ve posted from Vive Mejor.com, a site which I’d never heard of before two hours ago. The first two freebies were great, but now I’m starting to get a little worried. Free mayonnaise that takes four to six weeks to arrive? I love a great dose of food poisoning just as much as the next guy, but I think I’ll have to take a rain check on this one.

Who came up with the names for these free Degree Women Fine Fragrance samples? Delicious Bliss sounds like a brand of dark chocolate, Sexy Intrigue rings like a cliche-filled cheap romance novel, and Classic Romance is what I’ve studied all my life. Why just last night, I wrote a 90 page paper on the origins of their numerals, going back to the Etruscan society.

Wait, that didn’t say Classic Romans? Ohhh, romance, yeah I have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to that department. My only move is to start crying and hope she takes pity on me.

This free Pond’s Rejuveness may be a “popular Mexican beauty staple” according to their website, but I’m having trouble believing that anything from a pond could be rejuvenating. Most of the ponds I’ve ever seen are downright disgusting. If jumping into one of those is the key to unwrinkling my skin, well, I say we make looking like a prune the latest fashion statement.

At least this freebie can’t play into the swine flu hysteria that’s going on right now. According to that site, I have a naturally immunity from the disease, so I don’t have to worry.

Carvel Ice Cream is giving away a free Ice Berg from 3-7pm on Thursday, April 30. They have locations all over the place, but unfortunately for me my nearest three stores are all marked as “Coming Soon!” That won’t stop me from showing up and asking the construction workers where my freebie is though!

Also, I think we’ve found a winner for the Creepiest Mascot award!

First off, I have to thank everybody who has sent me a “Happy Anniversary!” e-mail over the past few hours. Slight problem though – I’m not married One of our other writers, Adam, made the post about having an anniversary today. So let’s all wish him and his wife well and then go sign up for a free woman’s Heart Health kit.

This free AXE Just Clean shampoo also comes with a $2 coupon if you happen to like the freebie. I’m a bit conflicted here, because on the one hand I love freebies while on the other hand, my Top 3 pet peeves in life include “horrendous commercials.” I’m still waiting to hear back from President Obama about the Commercial Czar position I offered to fill.

This freebie has been up and down for the past few days, so fingers crossed it stays up for a while this time around.

Just this morning I was thinking about how I don’t get enough pyruvate, lecithin, or rhodiola rosea in my daily diet. Heck, don’t even get me started on how hard it is to get trace minerals these days. Luckily, this free Revvida energy drink mix promises to solve our problems and then some. Alpha lipoic acid? D-ribose? Oh, yesss! I’m starting to hyperventilate with excitement here. Where’s my trusty brown paper bag?

I love it when companys host coupons on their own sites, kind of like how this free Pulled Pork Slider from White Castle coupon is set up. It takes almost zero effort to confirm that it’s real, which leaves me with plenty of time to train my pet monkey. I bought him a while back in the hopes of letting him run HIF for a while. So far it’s only taken me four weeks to teach him how to put on pants, which is three weeks faster than I learned as a kid!

The coupon is valid through June 30th, so I guess we’re on the honor system here to only print it once. Okay, maybe twice. Fine, fine, 27 times, but that’s it!

Here’s another good freebie that I wanted to get in before our daily newsletter was sent out. On Wednesday, April 29th from 11am-2pm, Domino’s Pizza is giving away free Bread Bowl Pasta orders for pickup. I suggest calling your local Domino’s and making sure they’re participating, because this strikes me as one of those offers where only half of the stores join in on the fun.

Speaking of our free newsletter, we also have a popular RSS feed you can sign up for. I do my best to make getting freebies as easy as possible, although now that I look at the numbers, I see that not many people have signed up for our Carrier Pigeon notification method.

Wednesday, April 29th, marks two important events for me, so I can’t forget it at all, no sirree.

First off, its my wife’s and my anniversary. After two years of marriage she still puts up with me and all of my shenanigans. How about that one?

And how will we be celebrating, seeing I have the day off from work? Well, that evening after whatever nice dinner we’ll be having, I know we’ll be heading out to the second important event: $.31 scoop night at Baskin Robbins from 5p-10p. Suffice to say that its not as important as the first important event, but still: a small single scoop ice cream from them for just over a quarter? Not bad, I say, not bad at all!

Hey, what can I say, after these years? I’m still a cheap date!

I don’t normally post regional freebies, but this El Pollo Loco freebie is too good to pass up. For today (Tuesday, April 28) only until 8pm, they are giving away a Taste the Fire Offer, which consists of one flame-grilled leg and one flame-grilled thigh, two tortillas (choice of flour or corn) and fresh salsa. Toss in a water and that’s a whole meal!

From the looks of it, they only have locations in California, so eat well West Coasters and consider this your early Flag Day gift.
