Saturday, May 1, not only has a ton of free kids events, but it also happens to be Free Comic Book Day. There’s a store locator on the site and here’s a list of all the comics available.

It’s been years since I’ve read comic books. I even tried drawing my own once. It didn’t have many super heroes, but starred a kid who refused to eat his vegetables, couldn’t talk to girls, and looked ridiculous in his baggy jeans. I guess it wasn’t so much a comic book as a journal. No wonder Marvel never took me seriously.

On Saturday, May 1, there are three free kids events. The first is the free Home Depot kids workshop from 9am-noon where they’ll be building a picket fence planter. What’s that, you ask? It looks like a flower pot in the middle of a chair. So…yeah.

If you finish up early, head over to the free Lowe’s Build & Grow Clinic from 10-11am and put together a little schoolhouse. Note that you can reserve a spot by signing up online.

Finally, head over to Michaels from 1-3pm for their Make-It Take-It Mother’s Day Bead event. It looks like they’ll be building a bracelet and earrings. I just hope they compliment my eyes!

There are three free Lacoste colognes / perfumes that have been around since 2008 but are still active. Personally, I won’t touch this freebie with a ten foot pole as I have no desire to smell like an alligator.

There are inlets and lakes filled with gators at my favorite vacation spot and every year I worry they’ll eat me while I’m napping in the hammock. Being mistaken for a male gator by Ms. Alligator doesn’t sound any more appealing.

Sams Club is giving away free Bounty paper towels, but they are requiring a membership ID. A nine digit ID. One that could be guessed or, dare I say, even made up by anybody.

I always feel like a spy passing along state secrets whenever I mention that trick.

Somebody help me here. Haven’t we already posted these free Gas-X thin strips in the past? I can’t find them in the archives, but I’m almost positive I’ve made a “hey, doesn’t Novartis sound a little like ‘no farts?’” joke before.
