2026 Tax Day Freebies, Deals, and Giveaways

The following information is from last year (2025)

Please check back at the start of April 2026 to find out what freebies you can receive this year!

Ahh, glorious Tax Day is once again soon upon us. I've still yet to finish mine. Or…start them. Hooray Capitalism! At least I'm a few steps ahead of Homer Simpson since I know it's time to actually do them.

While I toil away at figuring out which of my cats count as dependents (hey, they couldn't live without me!), enjoy this list of 2025 Tax Day freebies, deals, and giveaways! I should note, you may see other frugal sites reporting additional freebies, but I didn't include those. Everything below are offers with hard evidence for them online.

Unless otherwise noted, these offers are available on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 only.

2025 Tax Day Freebies

7-Eleven – They're offering an exclusive Tax Day deal via the 7NOW delivery app. When customers order $20 or more using the code WRITEOFF on April 15, they will receive $10.40 off the order.

Bob Evans – In lieu of a freebie or discount, this year Bob Evans is holding a sweepstakes. Now through April 15, people can enter for a chance to win one of 24 free comfort kits filled with cozy items like a fluffy rove, heated coffee mug, and a year's supply of Bob Evans products. You can enter on either their Instagram or Facebook pages:

On Instagram, you must follow Bob Evans, like the giveaway post and tag a friend who could use a hearty serving of comfort in the comments with #Sweepstakes.

On Facebook, you must comment on the giveaway post with #Sweepstakes and mention what Bob Evans product is their ultimate comfort food.

California Tortilla – You'll get one free small chips and queso (or salsa) with any purchase if you say the secret password. The password will be released on their Instagram and in years past it's been “1040.”

Casey's – Rewards members who purchase any large pizza on April 15 will receive a “Pizza Refund” in the form of a free large one-topping pizza credit to their Rewards account. This freebie can be used on a future purchase over the following 21 days, so be sure to redeem it before May 6!

Denny's -They're flipping the script with a deal worth writing off (on your breakfast calendar, at least): a limited-time BOGO for $1 Grand Slam dine-in deal that lasts beyond Tax Day, all the way until May 9.

Great American Cookie – They're offering a sweet treat relief in the form of a BOGO on their classic Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake slices. Man, I really wish I had one of these near me!

Kona Ice – Stop by a Kona Ice truck during select hours for a free cup of tropical shaved ice.

Krispy Kreme – Purchase any dozen doughnuts at regular price and get a second Original Glazed dozen for only the sales tax in their state.

Office Depot & OfficeMax – Get up to 5 free pounds of document shredding through Saturday, April 26. You'll need to use the coupon found at the bottom of the linked page.

Planet Fitness – This 11th annual free HydroMassage might actually be the longest running Tax Day Freebies on this list! Both members and non-members alike can get a free HydroMassages at more than 2,700 locations from the week of Saturday, April 12 – Saturday, April 19.

Shake Shack – They're enlisted actor Brian Baumgartner from The Office (looool) to help let people know that on April 15 customers who make a purchase of $10.40 or more and enter promo code TRUFFLETAX will get their choice of a Black Truffle Burger, Black Truffle ’Shroom, or Black Truffle Parmesan Fries. The burgers normally retail for $10.49, so this is essentially a BOGO promo and it runs through April 27.

Sonny's BBQ – Once again they're offering a St. Louis Rib Dinner for only $10.99. This includes ribs, two sides, and your choice of cornbread or garlic bread.

White Castle – Scroll down their value page to find a 15% coupon valid on Tax Day.

Ziggi's Coffee – Customers visiting any Ziggi's Coffee location will receive a Tax Day scratch ticket with a surprise offer that can be redeemed from April 15th – April 22nd. Offers include $1, $2, or $3 off your next purchase, BOGO drinks, a free kidZone drink with purchase, and other offers!

Unconfirmed Tax Day Deals

I have seen many other freebie sites and news agencies report dozens of Tax Day deals that I feel are completely unverified. I have found zero proof whatsoever they exist. None of them have official links to back up their claims and none of the restaurants are advertising the deals on their websites, mailing lists, social media, or press releases.

It's almost as if these websites are all copying each other's list without doing any actual legwork to confirm their veracity. It's like we're in 2005 all over again!

It's kinda wild to me that large sites like The Krazy Coupon Lady, Yahoo, Food Network, Retail Me Not, or People Magazine (to name just a few of the MANY sites!) have wrong, unverified information on their sites that mislead their readers, but people just don't seem to care 🤷‍♂️

Anyway, since I'm unable to confirm the validity of these Tax Day offers, I'm not adding the following restaurants to HIF.

  • Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza & Wings
  • Arby's
  • BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse
  • Buffalo Wild Wings
  • BurgerFi
  • California Pizza Kitchen
  • Checkers
  • Dog Haus
  • Fazoli's
  • Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers
  • Grimaldi's
  • Happy Joe's
  • Hooters
  • Kolache Factory
  • Krystal
  • Mountain Mike's Pizza
  • Noodles & Company
  • Olive Garden
  • Paris Baguette
  • Rally's
  • Round Table Pizza
  • Shipley Do-Nuts
  • Smoothie King
  • TGI Fridays

As always, if you know about a freebie I missed or have any confirmations for a store listed above, then please share it with me and other Hiffers alike in the comments!

  1. They must have changed the wording on the Sonic deal. Page now reads, “Offer includes single-patty SONIC® Cheeseburgers (approx. 1/4 lb. precooked) only. Add-Ons cost extra/ Not good in conjunction with combos,”

  2. These were stated in my local paper as well:

Office Depot – 25 free black and white copies one sided

Panda Express – Free Samurai Surf and Turf (4/17)

Chick-fil-A – (I like this one its creative). Buy anything on 4/15 save your receipt and take back on 5/14 to receive a full refund.

    • Thanks Jackie. The Office Depot offer is legit, but beware the Chick-fil-A Panda offer. I’m pretty sure it’s only regionally in two or three small areas.

  3. LOL free dates to “help singles take their mind off taxes!” I think a trip to Tahiti would help me take my mind off taxes … just saying.

  4. The town I live in only has a Wendy’s, a Dairy Queen. a Dunkin Donuts and a Pizza Hut. The only one of the places in this freebie that I have even heard of in Maine is Starbucks and I would have to travel almost 50 miles to get there. There used to be a Cinnabon on the Maine Turnpike but I heard it closed down. Oh well, I guess I am saving a lot of calories.

  5. I visit your website daily, a couple times a day & enjoy it.
Thank you for posting the freebies, especially for the Starbucks Free Coffee for Tax Day. Pike’s Peak Place coffee is awesome!

  6. Well, boo hoo…. Subway here didn’t honor the ‘free cookie’ deal. Sigh… At least I got my coffee though. Thanks for the post.

  7. Actually what you could do with the Starbucks deal if you have more than one store in your area when you run out at one store just go to the next store for your refill…

  8. I think the Starbucks one is only good up to 20 oz. but it doesn’t say there’s any sort of limit to the number of times you can get in line, so… take a field trip to the car & come back for a refill??

Also, if you sign up for their rewards program & make it to 5 stars (=5 purchases)… you can have FREE refills on brewed coffee (same visit only), a FREE drink on your birthday, AND two hours of FREE wi-fi whenever!! 😀

  12. Nothing in my area, but starbucks but I don’t drink coffee. This really sucks since I live in AL, & can drive easily to GA, but no Whole Foods locally.

  13. Not a lot in my area. But oh well! Someone on Facebook mentioned that Taco John’s is giving away a free taco, too, and I still have the free Cinnasopillas coupon from my birthday last week…so I might have to try that!

  14. I am very sad. The only one I will be able to use is Starbucks. I live in CA. and it seems we never get any of the good stuff! (if I have a cinnabons near, will not use it, too many carbs!!!)

  16. I went to an O’Charley’s in Indianapolis and they had little things on the table saying that they are giving away free homemade strawberry lemonade all day. It is more for administrative professional day, but it’s the same day as tax day!

  17. Goob, you’re lucky you don’t live in NY. After I entered my name and address into the free online tax software (TaxAct) it said that I owed the state $6.
