Free Baby Blanket and Stuffed Animal
Goob here. Looks like this wasn’t a legit freebie folks. Massive apologies for any confusion or headaches we caused by posting it.
I’m getting a lot of worried e-mails from people asking if this company now has access to their e-mail or credit card information and the answer is no! I signed up for the “freebie” like everybody else and the only information they have is our mailing address and e-mail address. That’s it. Which means, we’ll most likely see an increase of junk mail going directly to our spam folder.
The confirmation e-mail that they sent out had a link in it, which I also clicked. Some of you were worried that this might give them access to your e-mail account, but I can assure you they don’t! In order to have access to your e-mail, you would have had to give them your password and nowhere did they ask for that.
Please don’t worry folks. This is simply a fake freebie set up with the sole purpose of collecting our e-mails. As long as you have a spam filter (and 99% of emails do), then you’re fine. There are hundreds of these set up every day and we here at HIF do our best to identify them and kick them to the curb. This is the first one that’s slipped past us in a long while, but I can assure you nothing catastrophic will come of it 
Now back to the freebies!
And just now, as I get ready to crawl into bed, I’m always reminded of the pertinence of having a baby blanket. Why, I still have mine. Honest! Its folded up and used underneath my pillow each and every night. Yup, just as an additional level of fluffy goodness for a good nights sleep.
And with this free baby blanket and stuffed animal, well, here’s to another super soft blanket, and pretending that I’m younger than I actually am…
this is such a cute item; I hope it really comes because I would love to use it as a gift.

Don’t forget to respond to the confirmation e-mail that comes! Otherwise, they’ll think you gave a fake e-mail, and you might not get it.

Okay it went through I just have to respond to the email. I ordered the piggy cause it’s pink and I have a girl. I hope this comes it is so cute, my baby girl will love this blanket she has a carebears blanket that she has to have.
This offer looks like a phishing scam. The domain was just registered and there is no website for babiesonestep.com
Hmmmm… Good point, Jay… I had looked at those things before, but actually the registration must have changed since I looked at it… Interesting.

This is why I have a throw-away hotmail account with filter.
No need to change passwords, no where in the process of signing up for this freebie did they ask for your password.
And Rose, that’s a spam idea. I have a throw-away gmail account for freebies as well

goob……..I signed up for this this morning before work. 10 mins after signing up I was checking my email and a box popped up and said…” you just signed into your email using a different divice” should I be concerned??? I’ve never saw this before

Clicking on to the link won't even let me in to try….this must be a scam. All u people have given ur email address for nothing. Only SPAM stuff. What's up HIF????
One spam site got past us in what, the past few hundred posts we've made stretching back over months, if not years.
We're humans, we're gonna make mistakes. We posted this, realized later it was spam, removed it, and apologized. Not much more we can do and it's ten times more what other freebies sites would even bother doing.
I don't know what that error means, but I wouldn't be concerned. They're out to get your e-mail address so they can send you spam, not take over your computer.
You should report this to FBI. It's concerning that they took a survey whether a baby was expected in the household in the next 8 months. They have our mailing/residential address now. There are a lot of crazy nuts out there. I have a really bad feeling about this.
The thing is, we run into 100 similar sites while researching freebies to post here ever day. Even if I spent all day long reporting fake sites, the FBI would never do anything to 99% of them and I'd never have time for anything else.
well if they come to my house looking for a baby they will be very upset, cause my baby is my cat…lol
Goob, thank you for doing your best to rectify this, as a police officer and coming from a long line of them there is nothing more that could be done until someone actually showed up at your door but I promise you that no one would be that stupid with the increased laws in child protective cases. I want to insure all of you that you have nothing to worry about. And i too signed up for this as a new mother but used my husband for the freebie hahaha jokes on them. Thanks again Goob.

I have been waiting for 3 moths only recived 2 things mail is sure slowI cant waith for the blanket:). Iam so glad there r some free stuff in this world
Oh well. I havn’t seen any increase in junk mail, and I don’t even check the junk account I set up for this type of thing but once in a blue moon.
