Free Immortal Technique Album
I don’t know who Immortal Technique is. I’ll admit that I listen to a lot of strange musicians, and I was cheering like crazy while listening to Childish Gambino on Fallon tonight (srsly can’t wait for Camp), but I have no clue who this Immortal Technique is and why he’s Immortal and what his Technique might be. So this free Immortal Technique album (link is to the ZIP download) might be something I pick up and listen to for a bit. We’ll see, though…
P.S. While its not stated anywhere on the site, I have a feeling that this album just might be one of those that you want to hand your kid some Hearos during… Just sayin’…
I downloaded this album, opened a song called “Civil War” and was pleasantly surprised to hear Martin Luther King’s ‘Promised Land’ speech. For the first 30 seconds. Then it goes into hard rap, in which I heard the words f*ck and sh*t nine times in the next 30 seconds. I immediately closed down the song and deleted the album. Your mileage may vary.
Addendum — I decided just listening to one song wasn’t giving the album a fair shake, so I downloaded it again and listened to six more songs. Each one starts with an audio clip from a movie, a musical, a play, a tv show, something familiar, and then goes directly into a hard rap. And each one had the word f*ck* within the first thirty seconds, most having it multiple times. I war right the first time — I deleted the album again — gladly.
My brother loves immortal technique. And his birthday iS coming up. Would be awesome to add this to his care package!
<3s to you Adam but I think you should branch out into more genres. Not knowing who Immortal Technique is might be the equivalent of a 'rap' centric music fan not knowing who Modest Mouse is. I have over 55,000 songs on my comp if you ever want what the cool kids refer to as "the hook up".

I’m not telling folks what to think and what kind of music to like. I simply gave *my* opinion and even added ‘your mileage may vary’ to show that I’m well aware that *my* tastes aren’t everyone else’s and my thoughts and feelings may not apply. I don’t like rap. There are lots of folks who do. More power to them. Since there was no indication of *what* kind of music this was, I did go into it with an open mind and no preconceived notions. And realized that it wasn’t for me. That’s all I was passing on. And once again, your mileage may vary.
Immortal Technique is great!
Now, I’m not really a fan of rap, but he is pretty good. “Dance with the devil” is one of his best songs.
Lila2004 doesn’t know what she’s talking about, it’s pretty apparent she’s probably a close-minded, bible thumping “homemaker”.
Childish Gambino is rap/hip hop so he is branched… just not too deep lol
Amber, Lila gave the album a shot. Not everyone likes to hear rap and especially rap with cussing. It makes you close minded to think that only bible thumping homemakers could not like this kind of music. I’ve heard one of his songs before and his music is VERY intense and I can see why a lot of people wouldn’t like it. IMO, it’s not easy listening music like they would play on the radio (which isn’t a good or bad thing). We all can like different things without being rude to others because they don’t like it. I don’t get why people can’t get that. Some people have called my sister unamerican because she hates popcorn. Explain the intelligence and rationality in that.

@Amber, aw, you sussed me out. I’m a close-minded, bible-thumping homemaker. I told my Pagan circle about this, and they all agree with you, though my wife thinks you’re full of it. Ah, well…
Immortal technique is really good. Dance with the Devil is one of my favorites and its based on his real life experiences.

Glad to see some people know who he is. Not judging anyone for not knowing, theres a lot out there. But still, definitely glad some who didn’t know gave it a shot whether they liked his music or not, they still tried. His past albums are really good and just so happens to curse a lot to get his message through

Many people do not understand rap so listen to whatever but Immortal Technique is HOT! So if you cannot eat Chillie then u right to drink water. Immortal techniques’ lyrics are closest to reality, this worl is already f**ked and he’s just adding to it! He is talking about love,war, corruption, politics etc. You need to get the f-word filter for your mind in order to get the message. “To understand me, You ought to be a lil’bit bright!”
