If you've ever wanted a free foldable, paper NYC subway map, then head here and do the following:
- Enter your contact information, select “Subways” from the dropdown menu, and enter “MAP” as the subject.
- On the next page, select “Request” from the first dropdown marked “What type of feedback are you leaving?” You can ignore the other three dropdown options.
- On the final page, scroll down to the “Comment” field and politely ask for a paper map. Be sure to include your name and address in this field! If you live outside of NYC, mention that you're planning to travel to NYC soon and would like a paper map to better navigate the city.
These are paper navigation maps they give away at the subway station kiosks. They're just like the old-school Rand McNally road maps we all had in our car's glovebox in the 80s!
I request this last year, but didn't post about it on HIF because I wasn't sure if a map would actually arrive or not. Then when it showed up a few weeks later, I totally forgot to make a post 😀
But these are really cool to have, especially if you're a map nerd like me and love free maps.
