dont have this ware i live
Learn to spell, chickenlady
Hey, Angel, be nice. Perhaps she actually *meant* ‘ware,’ as in software. Maybe she refers to the Blockbuster kiosks as wares, so that would mean her sentence makes perfect sense. And if she didn’t, and used a word that just *sounds* like the word she meant, her intent was perfectly clear. And since communication is the name of the game, and she communicated without a problem, I say her post was a complete success. Now…what’s *your* problem?
Oh calm down Angel. It’s the internet, not a term paper.
Lila2004, wow. You’re someone using good conventions, to defend bad conventions. How perfectly usual. First off, even if you replaced “ware” with “Blockbuster kiosk”, the sentence would not flow, nor would it make any sense. “dont have this Blockbuster kiosk i live.” Wow. I understand what that means. Your edit actually makes the original worse.
Next, your second point completely contradicts your first point. However, you used the word “if”, so I’ll excuse that point.
Beyond that, using a word that sounds like the word you’re looking for, isn’t good enough. Can u reeli bare this? Its you’re problem I ges.
Also, even if communication is the main goal, correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation is essential to communication. “dont have this ware i live” doesn’t include good spelling, grammar, or punctuation. So, I see that her post was a complete failure.
Now, that’s the problem.
Also, “Tillman”, its totally okay to type like this on the internet, i get it. ppl can be too lazy to add a comma or two, or capitalize. even if you were too make that error, itd still be excusable. but really, “ware”? I’d even get “their”, and “there”. I mean, they’re both commonly used words that can be confused when you’re thinking. But “ware” and “where” are just unacceptable.
By the way, confusing “ware” and “where” doesn’t even matter that much. I just can’t stand such a fallacious argument. A “be nice, Angel” would suffice.
Also, I’m a ten year old on the internet. hahahhahsuckasssss.
@Lauren, I wrote a long post excoriating your post, and then just sighed and deleted it. Not worth it. This site is about freebies, not debating the finer points of grammar and communication. Thanks, Goob and Adam, for making this site available for us and doing all you do!
how do i go about using these codes? i’m confused.
@Deana, you print out these codes and take them with you to your nearest Blockbuster Express kiosk (Google a list of locations if you don’t know, but for me, they’re at Safeway, RiteAid and Food Lion, just to name a few). Choose a movie and start the checkout process. Click the ‘add a promo code’ button and type in one of the codes. You’ll see ‘Discount ($1.00)’ on the screen. That means it has discounted your total from one dollar down to zero. Now you need to insert your credit card. Yes, this is required. No, it won’t actually charge your card. Blockbuster just wants to know who to track down if you don’t bring the movie back, or who to charge if you don’t return it by 9 pm the following night. Anyway, insert your card and pull it out, then wait for the kiosk to spit out your movie. When it does, take your movie home, pop some popcorn and enjoy! Also note that you can use each code on each credit card you have. (Example, I have 2 credit cards and a debit card, so I use all three cards individually with the first code. And all three cards with the second code. And all three cards with the third code, etc.) Have fun!
Also note that there are new codes out that are good until November 7 –
