Free BIC Atlantis Pen

There’s something about me and free pens. I’m still a loyal fan of those Uniball Super Ink pens thanks to their giveaway in 2010. Seriously, those pens are awesome. I sign my name on any contract I can just for an excuse to use the pen. At this point, I’m pretty sure my dog has Power of Attorney over me.

So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that I’m excited over this free BIC Atlantis pen offer on Facebook. But here’s the thing: They’re only giving away 130 pens per hour between 10am and 8pm EST for the next 30 days. That might sound bad, but it comes to 42,900 freebies. So if you miss out today, just mark a random day in the middle of the month and you’ll probably have better luck signing up then.

    I got a pop up that said I couldn’t access the form if I had a secure server…that I had to try again on an unsecure server…. thanks, but no thanks. No one has EVER said that for a freebie before!!!

    Did anyone ever get the free Papermate pen from a while ago? (Might have even been last summer) where you submitted a picture of yourself with your favorite Papermate pen to their Facebook page and then they were supposed to send you a free pen? It was supposed to come a long time ago, but I never got mine :(

    Those ppl must really like getting a free pen! Its hard to get thru! Keeps saying they r all out into 2 seconds of the hour!

    I have tried during 2 different hours. Both times were gone the first seconds of the hour. I will say this one is too time consuming. Thanks anyway

    I was just on facebook and read the way to get a free pen. You have to long on every hour on the hour they are only giving away 130 pens at a time. So you have to just to keep trying every hour.

    I finally got mine. You have to be there before the hour ticks over, and keep clicking the “Cork Board” link to reload the page. As soon as it ticks over to the next hour, try several times, I think I had to try 3-4 times while it still said “all pens depleted, ” then finally I got one.

    This contest is creating a lot of ill will towards Bic. Almost 140,000 people have “liked” the page, almost four times as many as can get pens. The 130 pens are gone immediately on the hour in a process that is clearly susceptible to bots and the like. I have probably tried at :59, :00, and :01 forty times with no luck. Very bad marketing by Bic. I’ll buy a PaperMate or Pilot next time.
