I was happy to discover a few new restaurants offering free food on your special day while recently going through our birthday freebies list! Though somebody needs to make sure the people behind the Smashburger birthday freebie weren't being 100% literal when they said the shakes are “hand-spun.”

A Freebie Helped Save a Lost Toy
This isn't a freebie, but I recently read an article on a boy who lost his favorite toy in an airport and loved this part:
If a boy named Owen suspects his stuffed tiger named Hobbes has a secret life, the staff of Tampa International Airport won't disagree. Owen recently lost Hobbes at the airport — and when he reclaimed the tiger, he also received photos of Hobbes touring the facility.

When Owen returned from Texas, he was reunited with Hobbes and given a bound book of photographs that showed what his tiger had been up to. It was all the brainchild of Airport Operations Center Manager Tony D'Aiuto, who says he used a coupon to make the photo book at a drugstore.
Look at that! A freebie (and a little elbow grease) putting smiles on faces worldwide!
Captain D’s Birthday Freebie

Who would win in a fight: Captain D or Captain Goob? I don't know what he's rockin' these days, but the USS HIF was recently outfitted with two brand new, state of the art water cannons. They might not scare most sailors, but they strike fear into the heart of my neighbors. Nobody in a three block radius even bothers checking their mail for freebies anymore. They know whose territory they're on!
Too bad I don't have anything as cool as Captain D's birthday freebies.

Finding a new item for our massively popular free birthday food list always brings a smile to my face. It's rare these days, but it still happens. Case in point: this Sbarro birthday freebie. Sure, it's not the best freebie in the world since we have to buy a drink, but at the end of the day, it's free pizza.

Panera Bread Birthday Freebie

I love how the Panera Bread birthday freebie 1) offers the ability to “snack it forward” (™ pending) to a friend while 2) at the same time knowing tons of people would need clarification on “giving away” their dessert. As if somebody would give away a free birthday pastry.
Auntie Anne’s Birthday Freebie

Auntie Anne's birthday freebie calls me a pretzel lover, which is overstating things a little. Yet it goes on to say “birthday cake, shmirthday cake.”
DID THEY JUST DIS BIRTHDAY CAKE?!
Pretzels are barely more than fancy stale bread while birthday cake is the physical manifestation of a magical fairyland populated by rainbows, unicorns, and Lady Rainicorns.
Free Water Bottle
If you're looking how to get a free water bottle, then you're on the right path! While never a huge freebie, we still see these freebies given away once or twice a year. Surprisingly, the most frequent sources of free water bottles are health insurance companies and tobacco companies. 😄

If you're anything like me, you're scared to death of opening that cabinet in the kitchen right above the microwave. The second you crack the door, you'll be buried in 900 free water bottles, some of which your parents have kept from a local bank sponsorship in 1989. They'll come tumbling since you've stuffed way too many in there and then you'll never be able to cram them all back in and meanwhile, you're busy trying to pick which one you want to take to the park with you and finally you become too flustered and just plop back down in front of the computer to see what you can find on YouTube. What, I'm the only one who does this?
Unfortunately, the second word in the title above only contains two n's, which means this is just a free water bottle from Canon. I think we all can agree it would have been much cooler if this was a “cannon water bottle.” I could go either way with it too: it could be a cannon that shoots water bottles or a water bottle in the shape of a cannon.
You know, the next President should make a new Cabinet position titled Secretary of Awesome Ideas and then give me a call. I wouldn't even mind being placed near the bottom of the line of succession!
The only habit from running cross country in high school that I've carried with me through life is drinking water. I probably go through a gallon of water a day by constantly filling up a water bottle similar to this free PUR water bottle. In fact, I've probably got like 9000 of these things in my kitchen cabinets, but of course I just signed up for this as well. 🙂
This free C'elle water bottle offer has me worried. The survey is about storing blood cells from a baby’s umbilical cord and then they juuuust happen to give away an object that holds liquid?
Uno Pizzeria Birthday Freebie

It's should be painfully clear that we're in the midst of a freebie drought. I don't know which Hiffer pissed off the Freebie Gods but I'm looking at you, Jerry! It's kind of hard running a freebie site that focuses on quality freebies when there aren't any quality freebies around. Shocker.
I only bring this up to let new readers know this is normal. It sucks, but it happens for a few weeks at least once or twice a year (like my dating life). I have no hard evidence to prove this, but my gut tells me the drought will end next week. I can feel it in my bones as nobody says. In fact it might be the Sample Source freebie pack that gets the ball rolling.
But until the freebies return, I'll post the next best things: birthday freebies.
One of the newest members to the club is the Uno Pizzeria birthday freebie. What made for the sudden change in heart? I'm gonna go with … wizard squirrels? No, wait, 17! I never was good at tests…
Free Kit Kat & Sierra Mist
Man oh man, am I sad today. Talk about an end of an era. I first discovered both The Daily Show and Stephen Colbert while channel surfing on September 12, 2002. To say I was hooked from the start would be an understatement. You don't just happen to randomly remember what you watched on TV 12 years ago.
For me and millions of others, The Colbert Report wasn’t just a goofy comedy show, it was “must see TV” for the twenty-first century. I’d be flabbergasted if I missed more than 3 of the 1440+ episodes. I can’t think of a single show that flopped either. Sure, there were segments here or there that missed the mark, but overall Colbert was in my life and making me laugh more than any other stranger over the past decade. And all while in character! I can't imagine what that must be like 🙂
I shouldn't be tearing up all day like I have been. The man's not dead! He'll be back on TV before the end of next summer! I'm clearly biased, but there's no doubt in my mind he'll be amazing filling Letterman's shoes. But for the next nine months, my evenings will be a tad dimmer. September is an eternity away right now.
To Stephen and everybody who ever put an hour of work into that show, I cannot thank you enough. Colbert is my comedy idol and if I ever have an ounce of his talent or charisma, I'll die a happy man.
I think the only thing that could cheer me up would be a little comfort food like a free Kit Kat candy bar or a free Sierra Mist 2 liter.
