Walgreens: Free Planters Trail Mix

Free Trail Mix

While on a leisurely stroll today, I swung by my local Walgreens and confirmed that the steps below will score you two free bags of Planters Trail Mix.

  1. Become a fan of Planters on Facebook and print two $1.50 coupons. You can hit back on your browser to print the second coupon after the first finishes.
  2. Buy two bags of Planters Trail Mix for $1.99 each (they’re on sale).
  3. Use the two coupons you printed and then use the $1 Planters coupon found in the March Walgreens coupon booklet.
  4. Final cost should be free.

It’s important that you always use the manufacturers coupons before using the Walgreens coupons. Otherwise, the computer gets confused and you end up paying some money. You’d think they could find some old NASA computers from the 60s that helped put guys on the moon to handle the basic math. Heck, I’m pretty sure my watch from the 3rd grade could come through in a pinch.

thanks a lot for the offer…
just wondering though… would they accept us using 2 coupons in one purchase?
    they usually don’t

    thanks

Walgreens allows you to stack coupons. That means you can use a manufacturer coupon and a Walgreens (from their ad or booklet) coupon.

How do you get the Walgreens coupon booklet? Is it in the store?

  4. #4 Bailey |

You can also use these at Kroger with the Mega sale to get the 16oz jars of Planter’s Peanuts for $0.49. I used my two there last night :)

Your walgreens may require filler purchases if you can only use one coupon per item, so if this is all you’re buying, pick up two little things or things you need to have 4 items.

I work there and u can use manufacturer and walgreen’s coupons at the same time, as long as u have enough manufacturer to cover the number of items you have.

Does walgreens have stuff for under $1?? Please share.

    They have lots of candy.

The coupon books are available in the store, I picked one up when I walked in. Unfortunately I did not get mine free because after I used my 2 $1.50 manufacturers coupons my total was .98 cents and it wouldn’t accept the Walgreens $1 off coupon. But hey, I got 2 bags of Planters trail mix for .98 so I’m not complaining.

What do you do if you don’t have a printer?

  11. #11 lisalashes |

Walgreens would not take off a full $1 off , (their coupon in the March booklet). They said since my bill was only 98 cents, they could only credit me 50 cents.
I called customer service and was told they would return my call in 2 days.
I plan to try a different Walgreens.

I had the same experience as lisalashes. They took 50 cents off the $ .98 subtotal, so my grand total was $ .48 plus 8% tax on the full $3.98 for a grand total of $ .80 for two bags. Still a really good deal.

I had the same thing happen, but we don’t have food tax here BUT if you find something on clearance for $.02 (or as close as u can get…like an easter baggie or some cheapie candy) then it WILL take the $1 Walg booklet coup and u will only pay a few cents out of pocket.

Walgreens Coupon Policy is that they can take a coupon when it is for more than what you owe, they just have to adjust the coupon down. Here is a letter from customer service explaining:

I GOT THE 2 BAGS OF TRAIL MIX AND 2 CHOCLATE EGGS FOR 0.76 CENTS! YAHOO ÜÜÜ

  17. #17 underdog101 |

It isn’t FREE! It was .52 cents after tax. They could only credit .50 cents out of the coupon booklet at the store. Walgreens is riduculous at times. .52 cents isn’t bad though.

went back today with 2 more coupons, and total price was 60 cents. Pretty good deal still.

  19. #19 Nicole |

Hey, this trail mix is on sale 3/$5 at CVS too! Making it $1.67 for one. If you can’t get to Walgreens it would only be $.17 for a bag.

The coupons are all out….I missed it. =(

  21. #21 cheryl |

They are out of coupons at this time:(

  22. #22 margie |

I just joined the planters facebook page and they are saying to come back in a few days for more coupons since it was so popular. So I guess I won’t get it.

Goob tried to use those cooupons and there coupon and the wouldn’t let me because it says it don’t take the planters coupon for the trail mix, and it wasn’t enough to use all three coupons because the coupons were more than products. So I finally used the two off internet but couldn’t use the store one with it ending up costing me 98 cents
