This is a very good deal, but there is an aspect of gimmick to it.

Firstly, even after you give the people the certificate, all the restaurants I have seen have a "minimum purchase" requirement of $15 to $20 before the gift certificate can be used. It is still a good deal, as you get $10 worth of food for free if you buy $15-$20 worth of food, but the coupon is NOT TOTALLY FREE.

Again, this deal that restaurant.com is giving is NOT TOTALLY FREE. But it is still good

If you look at it that way, ALL coupons are gimmicks....buy the product (that you may not need right now) because you can save a few pennies today.

On the plus side, the restaurants involved get a credit for each GC and employees (sometimes) benefit (save $10, tip the server that much extra).

Kinda win/win if you ask me.
